Two parts of Albertville are moving at different speeds
The one fact that changes what you should do: the median sale price in ZIP 35950 rose 12.8% year over year, while ZIP 35951 dropped 9.1%. That is not a small difference. It means sellers in each area are working against different numbers.

|---|---|---|
| Median sale price | $270,000 | $259,000 |
| Price change, year over year | +12.8% | -9.1% |
| Median days on market | 41 days | 70 days |

ZIP 35950: prices up, but homes are sitting a little longer
The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 61 homes sold in ZIP 35950 in the three months ending August 31, 2026. That is up 8.9% from the same months in 2025. The median sale price was $270,000, up 12.8% year over year. Those are real gains.
The unglamorous part: median days on market was 41, one day longer than a year ago. Only 13.1% of homes sold above list price, down 1.2 points. Sellers are still getting paid, but buyers have a little more room than they did.
New listings in 35950 were up 24.5% from a year ago, with 66 coming to market. More choices for buyers means sellers need to be priced right from the start. The market is not broken here. It is just less forgiving of a high opening number.
ZIP 35951: prices dipped, but sellers are close to full list
The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 25 homes sold in ZIP 35951 in the three months ending August 31, 2026. That is down 3.8% from a year ago. The median sale price was $259,000, down 9.1% year over year. That is the part worth naming out loud.
Here is the part that surprises people: sellers in 35951 averaged 99% of list price. That is up 2.8 points from last year. Homes took a median 70 days to sell, 15 days longer than a year ago. So prices are softer, but sellers who priced right got very close to what they asked.
New listings in 35951 fell 25% from a year ago, with only 24 coming to market. Fewer listings mean buyers have less to choose from. That is part of why sellers who priced carefully still got close to their number.
What the national picture adds
The Federal Housing Finance Agency reported U.S. home prices rose 2.6% from July 2025 to July 2026. ZIP 35950 is running well ahead of that. ZIP 35951 is running behind it. Both are real, and both matter depending on where your home sits.
Realtor.com reported that 20.8% of listings nationally took a price cut in September 2026, the highest share since October 2022. That is the backdrop. Albertville is not immune to that pressure, and 35951's price drop says some of it is landing here.
Fannie Mae, as reported by CNBC on October 14, 2026, forecast the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate at 7.4% for the fourth quarter of 2026. That is real money every month for buyers figuring it out. It shapes what they can offer and how long they will wait.
Albertville together: steady, not spectacular
Across both ZIPs, the Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 86 homes sold in the three months ending August 31, 2026. That is up 4.9% from a year ago. There were 100 homes for sale, up 14.9%. Pending sales were 78, down 4.9%.
More inventory, fewer pending sales. That is a shift worth watching. It does not mean the market is falling apart. It means buyers have more choices and are taking a little longer to decide.
- ZIP 35950 is moving faster, with prices up 12.8% and homes selling in 41 days.
- ZIP 35951 is slower, with prices down 9.1% and homes taking 70 days.
- Both are Albertville.
- The right plan is not the same in both places.
- One street can read differently from the whole ZIP code, and that is the part worth figuring out before you pick a number.
